Redirecting attention while waiting
Problem
Users experience negative emotions while waiting and have a feeling of wasting time.
Solution
Diverting the user’s attention by displaying short entertainment content, animations, or allowing users to use the app while waiting gives them the feeling that the time spent waiting for execution has not been wasted. A lot of the analyzed decentralized apps allow users to use the application while waiting for a transaction to complete. The pattern can be used in a mobile or web application.
Informing user about Estimated wait time can be combined with this pattern.
