GAMIFICATION

Time limit

Problem

Users have low motivation to return and continue using applications.

Solution

The application is designed with a time limit for certain functionalities. Limit is imposed over infinite quantity source and makes it bouned by time limit. The source of prizes (e.g. points or tokens) is unlimited, and obtaining them is limited in time. The pattern can be used in a mobile or web application, giving users the feeling of competing in a battle against time, which presents a unique challenge.  

Additional rewards (confirming or wittnesing Geoclaim events) are available to users that respond quickly. First 200 users to confirm the transaction are rewarded with coins. The time limit is based on behaviour of other players but usualy allows no longer than few seconds to collect the award once the option is unlocked.

Limited quantity source is a related pattern also based on creating a challenge that encourages returning behaviour in users.
