GAMIFICATION

Limited quantity source

Problem

Users have low motivation to return and continue using applications.

Solution

Designing application in such  manner that it limits the maximum number of points scored at any time during the “game”. Players thus fight for a limited number of resources and compete with each other. The pattern can be used in a mobile or web application.

The area with high coin value is limited on the map. Users fight for ownership of the limited area in order to recieve higher portion of the award at the end of campaign period. The number of tiles allowing mining are also limited.

Time limit is a related pattern also based on creating a challenge that encourages returning behaviour in users. Instead of limiting the quantity of the source it limits the time users have to achieve a goal.
